If you have been thinking about pulling the trigger on a Russel Day Long Seat, now is the time. They are currently running a 15% discount that was originally set up over on the FJR forum. It started as a 10% discount, is now at 15% and could go to 20% if they get 50 orders. They are around 35 now. Must have order in by November 3 deadline. No details on their website, but you should give them a call to clarify. 800-432-9566. Ordered mine Friday and should have it in about 4 weeks, as this is their slow time. Won't ever be any cheaper.

Thanks for information on the Russell day long saddle. I called them with a few question. On my RT they can retain the heating element. They suggested I go with leather top with vinyl sides. If I go with the Solo option it also includes is new leather top with vinyl sides for the passenger seat using the original seat. Cost of the Solo is $535 plus shipping. The Duel option cost $640 plus shipping and will include new passenger seat shape. These prices do not include the 15 or 20% discount. The web site shows group discount date extended to 11/10/08.

Just placed my seat order (11/4/08). The group buy discount is up to 20% off. Prodution date is at 12/31/08. So I will need to send in my saddle before than. Should get it back by the end of January.

So it looks like you and I will be riding in comfort and style this spring. I am to receive mine just before Christmas (Uh, honey......what is this big box from California doing at the front door?) Hope we have mild weather at Christmas time, so that i get a chance to test ride. After the ride, then it can snow!
