Chitech Spring Tune-Up Clinic 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 2
It’s time for the annual Chitech Spring Tune-Up Clinic!

Do your noisy valves announce your arrival at the hot dog stand?
Is your scoot getting harder to start?
Is your fuel consumption going up and horsepower going down?
Is your engine pinging even though you use premium?

These could all be caused by an overdue tune-up. (Or other more serious problems, but lets not go there.)

If you feel your bike could benefit from a tune-up, and you feel capable of doing the work yourself (with a little Chitech “guidance”, if necessary), then this clinic is for you. Here’s the deal: We will be using the shop at Motoworks, 1901 South Western, Chicago. Entrance is at the rear of the building, from the alley. The event will be on Sunday, May 16th. Doors will open at 8am, work starting at 9am.

Due to the complexity of some of the newer bikes, there are some tasks we will not be able to accommodate. Valve adjustment on a four valve K-bike requires cam removal, for example. This goes beyond what most would consider a do-it-yourself job. For this reason, we request members call ahead to Seymour Goldberg to discuss with him what bike you have and what work we can help you do. If you have basic hand tools, bring them. The toolkit on your bike will be enough. We will have tools for your use, but if you bring yours it will help speed the process. Bring your own parts. They can be purchased at a BMW dealer, or online, or from an independent BMW repair shop such as Motoworks or Seymours. If in doubt about what parts are needed for your particular bike and work planned, call Seymour. If you plan to purchase parts at Motoworks, call them in advance to assure they have sufficient quantity. We also request a $5 donation to cover the cost of coffee and bagels.

And as always, kibitzers are welcome.

Seymour Goldberg: (773) 617 8061
Motoworks: (312) 738 4269

Uh, I think Seymour's number is 773-617-8061.

And John, I like the photo-- clearly shows it's "spring" time!!

D'oh! You are correct. I've fixed the phone number error. Hopefully no one was trying to reach Seymour and was unable to do so. Thanks, Tim.
