I am inheriting my wife's old GPS unit. Its a car unit but wondered if I could get it to work on my bike if I added a ram mount. Any thoughts let me know.

Thanks,

Scott

It should work. The GPS unit won't care if you're a car or a bike or a hiker as long as there's power to use and satellites to acquire.

The only issues that I can think of is vibration and adverse weather. I've used a Garmin 2730 for years on my bike and it's still going strong.

Here's a link to a similar dicussion thread on the adventure rider site. You'll proabably find some excellent input.

Good luck, Larry
