With the reality that my long distance cold weather riding days are moving behind me, coupled with a recent health diagnosis, I have decided to part with most of my leather gear. None of this stuff has ever been in an accident, or down for that matter. I'd score it 9.5 0n a 10 scale. All leather is minimum 1.2 to 1.5mm. If you ever wondered how cows can handle cold weather, this stuff explains it. Since this stuff weighs a ton, local exchange would be best.
1. First up is my First Gear Baron Jacket. 3/4 length, elasticized waist, multiple pockets, siliconized leather that is as soft as any I have ever seen, CE rated armor in the elbows, shoulders and back. Arm and back vents. Snap in liner and reflective on the back. I left Elburn one year for a ride south and the temp was 9 degrees, and we never saw 20 degrees. This is a classic jacket that weighs in, with liner, at 11bs. If I had to be wearing one piece of clothing when I went down, this would be it, period. Bought new and always cleaned and conditioned yearly with Lexol. New price was $ 540.00. Local price of $ 225.00. Sixe is XL
2. Next up is the matching overpants to the jacket, called First Gear Sport Touring over pants. Full leg zippers, CE armor in knees, 2 front and one rear pockets. Same siliconized leather as the jacket. Same care applied. These I had to hem at about 32 ". Waist size is 36 and is made to fit over a pair of jeans. These are really nice pants. New they were $ 300.00 Local price of $ 150.00
