I purchased a pair of molded stereo earplugs from Big Ear Inc. (they were called Ear Plugz before) back in 2005 for $290. After just two seasons (Sept 2007), I had the driver in the right ear plug go bad. Sent it back and had it repaired for $65. Now, just one month into the new year since the repair, the left driver has gone bad.
Here are my questions.........What has been your experience with your molded ear plugs? How much did you pay for yours, who did you source them from, how long have they lasted and what advice for longevity would you give?
Big Ear claims to have tremendous problems with people not managing ear wax and that accounts for 90% of their failures. But I don't have an ear wax problem and mine are crystal clear, yet failing. For those club members who have them, please post something so I can build an "experience data base" for other potential buyers and club members. I have strongly endorsed this product in the past, but if my experience is mirrored by other club members, it is time to change direction. If you know of other club members who own these, ask them to post to this forum. Please advise. Thanks in advance for your input.
