I was thinking about the great library that Greg Chabers created and managed for the club. On the old web site we could arrange to check out materials and then pick them up at the next meeting. Is that a feature that the web site will have again? Or is it already there and I just didn't find it. Please enlighten me. Thanks!

Short answer? No. The online library is no more.

Longer answer. In four years there were maybe (liberal guess..) six online requests for library items. Hardly worth the considerable effort that I spent creating the online database in the first place. My obvious conclusion was that this was a feature that our members just did not have any use for.

Makes sense to me.

Is there a list of library items that we could reference to see what we have?

As Hank suggested, an online list would be a great value for the membership. No need to be interactive. If we see something we want to borrow, a quick pm or email to you should be able to reserve it or put us on a waiting list.

I used to look forward to things from the library and had forgotten that the club still had one. Thanks for your continued efforts, Larry

Larry, I have a listing of the library assets in an Excel spreadsheet. I'll upload this file to the Downloads area. This area can be accessed by registered members of this site. Look for the "Downloads" link in "My Menu"

If you see something that interests you drop me a line and I'll bring it to the next monthly meeting.

By the way, did you see my posting from last week (in the Club Business section) regarding your suggestions for DVD purchases for the library?
