Deadline for the February newsletter is Wednesday, Jan. 21.
For the spring 2009 newsletters, I want to start a compilation of routes and roads that members have ridden and would recommend to the rest of us.
Any location is fine--close-by, far-away and in-
between. Any reason for liking the road is fine too, such as the road itself, the scenery, a restaurant at road's end, or you-name it.
So, send a short list or a long list to by email to "crnews (at) capseal.com," or by mail to me at 238 S. Scoville Ave., Oak Park, IL 60302, and include a photo if you have one.
Give the route name or number (US or state route), and the end-points, for example, "Wisconsin route 171 from Boaz to the Mississippi River," or "New Mexico Route 24, from NM route 130, south to Pinon and north to US route 82." Give us a line or two stating why you like the route, such as "prettiest darn mountains and valleys you ever saw," or "great twisties, but watch for traffic," or "good eats
at the Hot Dog Pause restaurant," or whatever you want to say.
If you want to write an article about a particular route, I'm all for that too. But for this compilation, a short description will be just fine.
You send 'em, I'll print 'em, along with a photo if you have one.
