Invitation for CRBMW members to add their suggestions.
The activities committee of the CRBMW met and encouraged the formation
of a Meet-To-Eat Program, similar to our successful Hot Dog Night.
Goals to achieve will be:
Provide a regular venue for riders to meet other member of CRBMW
Provide an opportunity for the members to ride
Provide an opportunity to sight see special destinations
(museums, unique diners, historical sights, etc)
Provide an opportunity hook up with CRBMW members who are
attending other long distance functions
And, best of all, maybe some good eating.
Sooooooo
We need your input:::
Would you prefer Sat or Sunday? or every now and then a week night?
Does a meet time of 1PM fit the plans? Make eat time constant.
What type of eating do you prefer? diner, drive-in, sit down(more formal)
Would you like semi formal dining mixed in with regular diner spots so non riding significant others can join us?
What distance should the ride be to reach the Meet-To-destination?
Should full day rides be included?
Would an organized ride to the destination be preferable for longer rides?
Can the forum be a meetup option for those members who like to ride with others?
What other locations/destinations would you have visited and would recommend?
Please respond back on the Forum so others can add to your line of thinking.

OK, Dave, here goes:
Would you prefer Sat or Sunday? or every now and then a week night?
>> Probably Sunday, with occasional weeknights too
Does a meet time of 1PM fit the plans? Make eat time constant.
>> Kinda depends on destination, doesn't it?
What type of eating do you prefer? diner, drive-in, sit down(more formal)?
>> Not formal per se, but not fast food, either
Would you like semi formal dining mixed in with regular diner spots so non riding significant others can join us?
>> Why not? Though non-riding (or riding!) s.o.'s should always be welcome anyway
What distance should the ride be to reach the Meet-To-destination?
>> Less than 100 miles. And they should be in every direction from the city, of course (yes, I will look for some Southern destinations!)
Should full day rides be included?
>> Why not?
Would an organized ride to the destination be preferable for longer rides?
>> Maybe so. Especially if there is an interesting route or scenery involved
Can the forum be a meetup option for those members who like to ride with others?
>> I suppose. How well has this worked so far?
What other locations/destinations would you have visited and would recommend?
>> I hope many of us will respond here...

Would you prefer Sat or Sunday? or every now and then a week night?
Either is good. Week night must be somewhat closer for the folks that have jobs and need sleep.
Does a meet time of 1PM fit the plans? Make eat time constant.
Yes, gives me time to get there.
What type of eating do you prefer? diner, drive-in, sit down(more formal)?
You know I prefer greasy spoons and Greek family restaurants. But only as second to good Asian grits.
Would you like semi formal dining mixed in with regular diner spots so non riding significant others can join us?
Hey! We'll be in riding suits! Who'll let us into a fancy restaurant dressed like that?
What distance should the ride be to reach the Meet-To-destination?
Less than 150 miles. And they should be in every direction from the city. That place in Indiana was nice, let's go again.
Should full day rides be included?
Sure. At the speed I go 150 miles could be an all day ride.
Would an organized ride to the destination be preferable for longer rides?
No, am tried of herding cats. Yes iffn ya gots a good scenic route.
Can the forum be a meetup option for those members who like to ride with others?
Nope, that's what the Ride Central part of the forum is for. (did'ja read its description?)
What other locations/destinations would you have visited and would recommend?
Well... There is one place my mother-in-law kept telling me to go to. But I prefer milder weather.

I liked Tim's response so well I copied it and have added a few adjustments:
Would you prefer Sat or Sunday? or every now and then a week night?
>> Saturday or Sunday, with occasional weeknights too
Does a meet time of 1PM fit the plans? Make eat time constant.
>> Kinda depends on destination, doesn't it? A fixed time works but don't expect to see everyone there on the top of the hour if they ride in seperate.

Should full day rides be included?
>> Why not?
Would an organized ride to the destination be preferable for longer rides?
>> Maybe so. Especially if there is an interesting route or scenery involved. This might be the best for a day long ride anyway.
Can the forum be a meetup option for those members who like to ride with others?
>> I suppose. How well has this worked so far?
What other locations/destinations would you have visited and would recommend?
>> I'd prefer a great ride over great food. Going west or NW into WI would be a good option even though I'm south.

>>Would you prefer Sat or Sunday? or every now and then a week night?
Saturday or Sunday - weeknights are covered by hotdog and ice cream nights.
>>Does a meet time of 1PM fit the plans? Make eat time constant.
Probably. But if you wish to coordinate with another activity, you may need to accommodate their schedule.
>>What type of eating do you prefer? diner, drive-in, sit down(more formal)
Either
>>Would you like semi formal dining mixed in with regular diner spots so non riding significant others can join us?
N/A for me.
>>What distance should the ride be to reach the Meet-To-destination?
1-2 hours from some central spot such as Winfield. Depending on which direction it is, it will be closer or further for some members.
>>Should full day rides be included?
Yes, part of the mix.
>>Would an organized ride to the destination be preferable for longer rides?
If someone wishes to organize, why not. Anyone can still choose to ride on their own.
>>Can the forum be a meetup option for those members who like to ride with others?
Maybe. I'm always a little reluctant to put concrete plans in a publicly accessible forum.
>>What other locations/destinations would you have visited and would recommend?

Diners are fun too.
What about a fish fry?
I'd like a Cafe or coffee shop.

Fundraiser lunches are neat to stop at but may be hard to locate.
I'd like to visit the BMW Milwaukee store and meet for lunch nearby. Covered bridges in Indiana-overnight.
Hardin Ridge in Central Indiana - camp overnight.
