My school - LRN2RYD - is offering two weekend ERCs during the month of July.

One is on Saturday, July 11 and the other is on Sunday, July 12. Both run from 8 am to 6 pm and are taught at the Westfield Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills.

I'll roll back the cost to last year's tuition - $199 - for Chicago Region members. Only 4 people in a class, so sign up with a friend and get a great mid season skills tune up!

I left two voice mails and two emaila about the class but have never gotten a response.

Bad news - Playing phone tag can be frustrating for both parties.

Good news - Dennis and I talked and as of yesterday (7/2) he has taken and finished a class with LRN2RYD!

Unfortunately, as of this writing, there are plenty of spots still open in both classes.

For whatever reason, Experienced Rider Courses (ERC) are hard to fill. Even the state run classes have had problems. Both the state and commercial providers have dramatically reduced their ERC offerings because of the high no show rate and subsequent cancellation rate of those courses. No one likes to see a range sitting idle, so most places opt to schedule more Basic Rider Courses (BRC) rather than gamble on filling an ERC.

Some manufacturer groups are trying to encourage riders to seek out additional training. The Harley Owners Group (HOG) gives their membership $50 every two years towards a rider education class.
