CRBMW folks have traditionally NOT had a group ride to the National Rallies, not to say that some small groups of people don't ride together informally or formally.
It's not an intentionally unfriendly policy-- just that most of us are scrambling to get ready, not sure exactly when we're leaving, and generally in a reasonable hurry to get TO the rally-- not to say we shouldn't be taking our time and smelling the roses (and/or dandelions) along the way. And it's a fact that the larger the group, other things equal, the slower the pace-- just tends to mean more stops and stops are what slow the average speed. And group rides are just not our thing, for the most part.
We, for instance, are sticking around for Granddaughter's second birthday-- and out the gate late.
But, there are some who would like to ride together - and looking for a like-minded rider-- best suggestion I have is to amend your posting-- stating the approx time you want to leave, if you want to take freeways or backroads, and what kind of pace you like to keep. And post your email address and.or phone so those with an interest can contact or post also.
Finally don't take it personal if the response is underwhelming-- and by all means plan to camp or stop at the big tent we have at the Rally site-- once we get to the rally we are committed to taking it easy.
