Chicago Region BMW Motorcycle Owners Assoccrbmw

While the official tally of new memebers who signed up will be announced by Mike Peterson, it looks to be about 41 new members will join the ranks of one of the best BMW Motorcycle Clubs in the country. Traffic in our booth and in the isle could be mostly described as a roadblock. Huge interest in the S1000RR generously loaned for display by Mike Abt of Chicago BMW and the HP2 loaned by Jim Baber of Cycle Werks in Barrington. Chicago BMW also provided a sweet R1200 GS Adventure as well as Hank Barta's K1200 RS and Motoworks Steve Strickland's ultra trick R100 RS. Hundreds of people waited to see these bikes, snap pictures and realize that BMW is in the game big time. Johnny Sheff of Motoworks in Chicago was flawless in his member recruiting efforts and showed everyone how it is done. Great time and great success. Personal thanks to Ed Dybala, Roger Gunderson and Hank Barta for assisting me in the loading and transport/unloading of 4 bikes used in the booth. Finally, recognition needs to go out to Steve Jeffries for grabbing the bull by the horns and organizing the show. We are really getting good at this!
