The Chicago Region BMW club has a long tradition and we'd like you to be a part of it

The Chicago Region BMW Owners Association is one of the finest motorcycle clubs in North America. Our club (BMWMOA Charter Club #3) was founded by a small but energetic group of BMW enthusiasts in 1969. The members who chartered our organization were intent on bringing together like-minded "Beemer" owners who had a passion for their unique bikes and an interest in the fledgling sport of motorcycling. In the late 60s, there were very few BMW motorcycles cruising the roads of North America, and the meager dealership network was limited to a handful of major cities.

Thus, the Chicago Region BMW Owners Association provided a needed support group for basic maintenance and care of its members' BMW motorcycles. In time, the additional bonus of lasting friendships and expanded motorcycle awareness were realized. As we enter our 30 th year, our club has evolved into a multi-dimensional association that offers dozens of benefits and opportunities to its members.

CRBMWOA is Charter Club #3 of the BMWMOA.

Members take a smorgasbord approach, participating only in the club events that interest them.

The Chicago Region BMW Owners Association works hard to offer you many useful and fun-filled activities. Members can participate in only the events that interest them, and pass on the rest. For example, we have a Membership Meeting on the third Thursday of each month where members and their guests get together and have a good time talking and showing off their BMWs. Usually 50 to 100 people will show up at these meetings.

The participation in group rides, such as our early Spring ride to Starved Rock State Park, is also typically 50 to 100 people, but each club ride or event attracts a different assortment of riders and guests. We also have three of four CHITECH hands-on technical seminars each year, and these sessions will attract 15 to 20 people. Some come to learn how to fix their BMW motorcycle, others come to just have fun.

We are a diverse group that comprises Owners, Tinkers, Hardcore Mechanics, Polishers and Riders. Ten percent would need help finding Lake Geneva by lunchtime. Ten percent could be in Denver for supper. Most of the other 80% are also interesting, and characters abound. It's a great study lab in observing the humanoid race, from apes to astronauts.

Beemer pilots are a diverse group of men and women who are individualists by nature. We come from all walks of life­ tradesmen, professionals, business owners, housewives, retirees, students. Some of our members are in their early 20s and others in their late 70s. The one thing we all have in common is our interest in BMWs and our love of motorcycling.
