Actually the Performance Center provides the bikes. Using your own is an option and saves you $300, but with the Performance Center’s bikes there’s no liability for damage and even if you destroy a bike, they just bring you out another one.

That sounds like an awesome idea, Mike. For those of us without a GS we could look into renting one from Hertz or dealer out near the performance center.

we should definitely raise the idea in our planning meeting this weekend!

How about we try to plan a group club event at the BMW U.S. Rider Academy? Max group size is 12 riders, and if we can pick a date far enough out, we might be able to have a weekend all to ourselves. I don't know if any discount would be given, although I would be happy to make inquiries. I think a BMW MOA membership gets riders 20% off the regular price.

Yes, full knobbies, front and rear. Continental TKC-80s. Very capable tires, totally streetable, too. True 50/50. Their super-soft compound sticks very well (I have used them at a track day when I showed up to ride on my R1200GSA) but downside is you're lucky if you get 3,000 miles on them.

I would be glad to talk about the experience and answer whatever questions members might have.

More pics to follow as soon as I get more from our self-appointed class photographer.

I would like to see more pix if any are available.
Are those full knobs on those rear tires?
Would you be so kind as to say something about the experience at a club meeting?
I got about a gazzillion questions.
