*Intro to Motocamping

Our base from Friday May 13th to Sunday May 15th is going to be the lawn at Patrick King’s parents’ property, located at 2890 Bend Road, Shabbona, IL, 60550. This is 70 miles from Chicago, and 40 from Naperville.
“Check in” will be from 5pm on Friday, and “Check out” is on Sunday by 10am.
Patrick will be there, along with Michele Barsanti, when you arrive. They will be happy to help anyone who needs assistance with setting up their home away from home.
The facility: Please note this is a private property, not a real campground: we will be camping on the lawn.
Campfire: it wouldn’t be camping if we didn’t have a campfire. But please follow Patrick’s instructions on “where” to have that campfire. Shockingly (!!!) he is not too keen on having burnt grass all over the property…
Bathrooms: there will be access both to an indoor toilet and to a chemical toilet outside.
Meals / food: Dinners on Friday and Saturday: everybody is responsible to bring and cook their own dinner on both Friday night and Saturday night. The whole idea is for you to test your gear and your skills. You are also more than welcome to try your luck and find restaurants in the area, if cooking isn’t your thing.
Breakfast on Saturday: our host Patrick will be cooking breakfast (bacon and eggs) on Saturday morning for those who want it. This breakfast is “donation” based: you are free to make a donation in a jar that Patrick will have handy.
Lunch on Saturday: it will probably be on the road, or you are welcome to build your own packed lunch.
Breakfast on Sunday: your responsibility!
